I grew up in London.

Up to the age of fourteen I believed having a baby was a terrible event. Then my wonderful Aunt arrived in our family; she spoke so passionately about how women can give birth and of it being an amazing and empowering experience. I have had the pleasure of working with women during and after their pregnancy over the last ten years with pilates and yoga. This interaction encouraged me to train as a Birth Doula and Postpartum Doula, through DONA International, as I felt the need to be able to more actively support women and their partners during pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum.  My passion is working with women during their pregnancy and postpartum.

I want to spread Ina May Gaskin’s message from the recent documentary “Birth Story: Ina May Gaskin & The Farm Midwives” Remember this, for it is as true as true gets:

Your body is not a lemon. You are not a machine. The Creator is not a careless mechanic. Human female bodies have the same potential to give birth well as aardvarks, lions, rhinoceri, elephants, moose, and water buffalo. Even if it has not been your habit throughout your life so far, I recommend that you learn to think positively about your body.

- Ina May Gaskin

In 2000 I started attending Pilates classes, it helped me overcome some old injuries – I was hooked.

In 2002 encouraged by my Pilates teachers in London I signed up to train in New York at The Kane School of Core Integration to become a certified Pilates Mat and Equipment Teacher.  At this time I was first introduced to GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM ® and started taking weekly classes.  In 2003 I was offered a job at The Kane School.   A year later after completing my Gyrotonic ® training, I moved to Sun Valley, Idaho to manage Innerflo Movement Studio, which I bought in 2005. I loved living and working in Sun Valley for 8 ½ years.

In Spring, 2013 I moved to The Bay Area to pursue Doula Work more full-time.  I supported families at Births and Postpartum throughout the Bay Area for 4 1/2 years.  In the Fall of 2017 I moved back to the beautiful Wood River Valley and reopened Innerflo in Ketchum Idaho with my business partner Joseph Schultz.  I share the movement space of the studio with some fabulous local teachers, Denise de Lisser, Monika Schernthanner and Beth Chiodo.
